The DM has issued a high alert due to the continuous rain in the West Champaran district of Bihar. DM Dinesh Kumar Rai has instructed all the officials of the district to remain in alert mode regarding possible floods. He said that there are indications of continuous rain in the catchment areas of the rivers of the district. Due to this, an increase in the water level of the rivers cannot be ruled out.

In case of pressure on embankments and pressure on anti-erosion work site, instructions have been given to carry out anti-erosion work there on war footing. DM Dinesh Kumar Rai said that 27 SDRF teams are already deployed in the district. Apart from this, additional SDRF teams will also be called if needed. He said that watchmen have been deputed to keep the embankments safe. DM said that the concerned departmental officers have been instructed to be vigilant by patrolling continuously. Let us tell you further that due to continuous rain in the Terai region of Nepal and West Champaran district, the water level of mountain and Nepali rivers is increasing, which can create flood problem anytime.

On the other hand, with the increasing pressure in the Gandak river in Bagaha, the administration has started preparations in Bagaha city and surrounding areas. Preparations are being made to set up temporary camps at half a dozen places. This will help control the increasing pressure of the river. Superintendent Engineer Naval Bharti said that the pressure of the Gandak river is increasing at a dozen places including Bagaha city. In view of this, sand bags are being stored at pressure places. This will help in controlling the pressure of the river. Along with this, monitoring arrangements have been made. In this, instructions have been issued to the teams of junior engineers to continuously monitor these places. These teams will monitor the situation and take necessary steps.
